Tai Chi Class Starting Sept 1st Introduction to Tai Chi
Come join a twelve-week class in Tai Chi Yang Style at AUUC. The class will be taught by Dr. David Clippinger, who has trained with many famous Tai Chi masters and is an ordained Ch’an Buddhist Monk. David also is a member of South Hills UU Church. The class will introduce the fundamentals of Tai Chi, which is a “soft” martial art that melds self-defense with deep meditative breathing and spiritual inquiry. In addition, the class will cover the Taoist and Buddhist philosophies that are central to Tai Chi. Meditation will be part of the course as well. The cost is $150 for 12 weeks, which can be paid in three installments of $50. The class size will be approximately 10 people, which will allow a good amount of individual time with the instructor, while also facilitating the goal of small-group ministry.
