Racial and Social Justice Ministry

The Social Justice Ministry decided at an open meeting that in order to really make things happen in our community, the church should have one social justice focus, and that that focus will be Racial Justice. The ministry chose this focus because race is such an integral part of other social justice issues, and felt that this is the area where we can make the most impact in our community.

The Social Ministry is responsible for facilitating communication about race-related issues to our community and our church. The Ministry will also organize four racial justice-themed Sunday services per year, and one "racial justice moment" per month where a member or guest will speak about how race affects their lives.

Other social justice groups at AUUC are encouraged to focus on racial justice within their group's area of interest.
