The DownUnder Coffeehouse features the finest in local acoustic music. The coffeehouse is open monthly on the third Saturday of the month (more or less), Sept through April.  We are located in the newly renovated basement of the Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church, 416 West North Ave, on the corner of West North Ave and Resaca Place, in Pittsburgh's historic North Side in the Mexican War Street neighborhood, near the National Aviary.

Life in Balance

We are pleased to open the 2007-2008 season with Life In Balance is a nationally touring duo committed to using sacred musical instruments blended with current technology to create a high-frequency sonic environment. Life in Balance features Steve Sciulli on Enhanced Japanese Shakuhachi, Bansuri, concert Flutes and Ami Sciulli on Chakra-tuned Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls and percussion. Prepare for an mystical evening of ranging from meditative organic sounds to energized world music.

The Brad Yoder Duo

A coffehouse favorite, Brad Yoder Duo, returns to the DownUnder stage. Brad Yoder and Jason Rafalak will be offering their old favorites along with the newest pearls. A highly prolific songwriter with a taste for irony and humor, Brad is has been voted top local acoustic act three of the past four years by the City Paper. He is joined by Jason Rafalak on bass and mandolin and backing vocals.
