NOVEMBER 3 Caring for the Earth: Environmental Spirituality
Norma Kassi & Ken Madsen

We are delighted to open our pulpit to environmental activists, Ken Madsen and Norma Kassi, who will share with us a spiritually-rooted perspective on protecting the Arctic Refuge in Alaska. Norma is from the Gwich'in Native American tradition.

NOVEMBER 10 A Mother and Daughter's Perspective

We are privileged that Barbara and her daughter Devon have offered to share how the faith community has a key role to play in offering a supportative environment for personal struggles.

NOVEMBER 17 Who Was Muhammad? What Did He Proclaim?
Rev. Art McDonald

During this month-long period of prayer and fasting that Muslims refer to as Ramadan, we will reflect upon the history and belief around the figure of Muhammad, the prophet. Art will try to share thoughts on how this prophet weaved together religion, politics and personal piety.

NOVEMBER 24 Thanksgiving Service and Dinner

This is an intergenerational Service to give thanks for the community and all its gifts. After the Service we will have our annual dinner in Founders Hall.

Regular Sunday Service at Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church begins at 11 o'clock. Summer services (including Sept 1) begin at 10:00 o'clock.

"Folk Orchestra of 1st Unitarian Church"

The November coffee house will feature an eclectic blend of contemporary music that will soothe your very soul - from Pittsburgh's First Unitarian Church Folk Orchestra.

At the Coffee House - home made jewelry, bags of gourmet coffee direct from small-scale farmer co-ops in Latin America, used books, and home-made deserts will be for sale.

Coffee is free to all!
