Upcoming Services

November 25

10:30 AM - We Remember Them - Samhain, All Saints, All Souls - Kathy Kozachenko and Donald Zeilman

This is the time of the year traditionally associated with the remembrance of those who have gone before. Join us as we recall those significant souls who are no longer in our lives.

December 2

10:30 AM - Be the Light You Seek - Reverend David McFarland

Join us as Rev. Dave explores the Hanukkah tradition as one of the many celebrations of light as we enter dark winter. After the service, please stay for the first annual Committee Fair during coffee hour. You will learn about all the wonderful opportunities to be involved more fully in the life of the church, not to mention good food and prizes. See you there!

December 9

9:30 AM - Communion Service: This half-hour service celebrates and strengthens our commitment to justice. Traditional symbols are used, but all will feel welcome regardless of belief. Please join us.

10:30 AM - Speaker and topic to be announced

December 16

10:30 AM - The Simple Gift of Thanks: Winter Solstice - Alicia Fronczek

A celebration of the Winter Solstice, where we will connect to the cycle of nature, reflect on the darkest night of the year, and find the light within ourselves.

Note: The Steelers have a home game scheduled today for 1:00 pm.*

December 23

10:30 AM - Give Birth to Love - Rev. David McFarland

A Christmas celebration for the entire family. Rev. Dave will be leading us in the songs and stories to celebrate Jesus' message of love.

December 24

7:00 PM - Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

Our traditional Christmas Eve service full of carols and candlelight.

December 30

10:30 AM - The Web of Interconnection of Which We are a Part - Linda Deafenbaugh

Neurobiological connections link minds, creating both knowledge and community. Linda will share some of the insights she has gained from her explorations in this area and reflect upon developing the practice of connecting to each other.

Note: The Steelers have a home game scheduled today for 1:00 pm.*

December 31

8:00 PM - New Year's Eve Open House

Looking for an alternative to the usual frenetic New Year's Eve festivities? Why not join us at Allegheny's annual Open House and Meditation Service! This traditional event has been a favorite for those who prefer a more personal and reflective New Year's Eve. Join us from 8:00 until 11:00 for conversation, readings, food, drink and possibly song. Stay for the whole time, or just stop by. If you can, bring a food item, beverage and your favorite poem or song.

11:00 PM - Meditation Service

The Meditation Service begins at 11:00 and offers a reflective pause on the cusp of the New Year. The countdown and first toast follow at midnight on the church steps.

Services at Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church begin at 10:30 am.

* Please allow extra time on Steeler Sundays. Parking in the neighborhood
will start to fill about 2 hours before the game.
