Sharing The Power Of Rhythm Jim Donovan

Jim is the drummer for the popular Pittsburgh band, Rusted Root. Fulfilling his desire to share the power of rhythm first hand with people, Jim has built a series of drumming workshop programs. Today he will share the connection between drumming and his spirituality.

Words Of God Rev. David McFarland

In honor of the yearly Jewish celebration of the Torah, Rev. Dave will explore the religious concept of scripture and the liberal religious hope in an ongoing revelation.

Turning the Corner on Homelessness Mac McMahon

Mac will share his outlook on the “state of homelessness” in Pittsburgh today after attending a conference of community leaders addressing the issue in Allegheny County. He will speak to the energy and passion that he derives from his faith and working at Northside Common Ministries.

In his service before this year’s election, the Reverend McFarland will deliver his “Election Day Sermon.” He will explore the state of our politics and what we are being called to do.

Today, we celebrate the Celtic new year, when the veil between this world and the next is at its most transparent.

Disposition Of Ashes & A Service For All Souls 5:30 pm UUCNH

Join us for a Service of Disposition for the ashes of Rev. Jesse Cavileer at the UU Church of the North Hills. Immediately following, in the North Hills Church sanctuary, we will hold our annual Service to remember all those who have died. This year, we will commemorate the beginning of Samhain, which is traditionally associated with the remembrance of ancestors.


Services at Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church begin at 11 o’clock.
