FEBRUARY 2 Christianity & the Religion of Jesus: Are They the Same? The Legacy of William Ellery Channing
Rev. Art McDonald

Art will discuss the resurgence of William Ellery Channing as a major Unitarian theologian. As part of today's Service, there will be a simple sharing of communion - bread, wine, juice, which will be offered for those wishing to participate.

FEBRUARY 9 The Relationship of Faith and the Struggle for Justice
Chris Moore, WQED

As part of our celebration of Black History Month, we are delighted to have television and radio personality, Chris Moore with us today to reflect upon his own work to educate and advocate for equal rights and justice for the African-American community.

Monthly service that reconnects us to our community of faith and action.

FEBRUARY 16 A Personal Faith Journey: Recovering Roots
Jean Kablack

Jean Kablack will share with us her faith journey as connected to the Unitarian Univesalism through her late Jewish mother and AUUC member, Shirley Nusser, and her decison to explore those Jewish roots by joining Temple Sinai. Through Jean's effort and personal committment to Tikkun O'lam (repairing the world), Temple Siani has recently joined PIIN.

FEBRUARY 23 From Emerson to King
Rev. Art McDonald

Art will talk about Emerson's legacy on democracy, race and protest as seen through the eyes of Dr. King and others. Art is indebted for his ideas on a book by Anita Haya Patterson, entitled From Emerson to King.

Regular Sunday Service at Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church begins at 11 o'clock.

Poetry Jam Session

Come and listen to local poets read in AUUC's intimate, candle-lit, coffee house setting. Poets: Vera Hubbard, Lawrence Wray, and Kathy Kozachencko will read selected works to be followed by an open mic for novice and student poets to present their works in our own renovated Founders Hall.

At the Coffee House - home made jewelry, bags of gourmet coffee direct from small-scale farmer co-ops in Latin America, used books, and home-made deserts will be for sale.

Coffee is free to all!
